Minimally Invasive Procedures

A major way we help you avoid discomfort in all our treatments is by using advanced technology and minimally invasive procedures wherever possible.

Dental lasers are gentler and more comfortable than traditional instruments, and they speed healing.

Dental laser for gum treatments

Our dental laser is a gentle surgical device used in cosmetic gum procedures and gum disease treatment. It is far less invasive than traditional surgical instruments.

Ultrasonic scalers that adjust for comfort

We use ultrasonic scalers to remove the majority of the plaque and calculus from your teeth. Ultrasonic scalers are gentler than traditional scaling instruments and can be adjusted for patient comfort.

Non-traumatic extractions

When the doctor needs to extract a tooth, he first gently severs the ligaments holding the tooth in place. He then removes the tooth vertically with special instruments. This type of extraction causes little to no damage to the surrounding bone and tissue and speeds healing time.

Gentle injections

We warm our anesthetic to body temperature so it causes no discomfort due to being cold. We apply a topical anesthetic at the injection site so there is no initial sensation and then slowly  deliver the injection so it is comfortable.

Sedation Options

For long procedures or for patients who need extra help to relax, we have several sedation options. The doctor will let you know which one will best suit your needs.

Nitrous oxide

Nitrous oxide is a colorless, odorless gas you inhale that causes drowsiness and reduced anxiety. The effects of the gas wear off quickly and we give you pure oxygen immediately after terminating the nitrous oxide to speed up recovery time.

Oral sedation

In oral sedation, you receive a sedative pill to help you relax. The sedative puts you in a twilight-like sleep where you can still respond to requests and questions from the doctor.

IV sedation

With IV sedation, the sedative is entered directly into the bloodstream and is regulated for strength during the procedure to ensure optimal comfort. You will be in a deeply relaxed twilight-like sleep yet still able to respond to communications from the doctor. The doctor has an anesthesiologist administer and monitor the sedative during the procedure.
