Dental Implants in Mission Viejo
Expert Replacement of Missing Teeth or Teeth Beyond Saving
New teeth supported by dental implants are extremely lifelike in both appearance and function. They allow anyone with missing or unsaveable teeth to act and feel as though they have their natural teeth back.
A dental implant is a titanium or ceramic post that functions as an artificial tooth root and acts as the foundation for a replacement tooth. Dental Implants are the strongest, most stable and most lifelike option for replacing missing teeth.
Dr. Setya is a highly trained and experienced specialist in implant treatment and has placed thousands of implants. He uses advanced technology for precise planning and accurate, stable placement. He is able to help most people receive dental implants and experience their many benefits.
Expert Dental Implant Specialist
Dr. Setya has completed extensive advanced education in dental implant procedures. He completed a full year residency concentrating exclusively on dental implant procedures during his periodontal specialist training in the early 1990s. After earning his specialist degree he completed several more levels of advanced implant training at the Misch International Implant institute, the Pankey institute and the Spear Dental Institute—three of the most renowned implant training centers in the country.

Our Dental Implant Procedure
Dental implant placement is a precise procedure that requires very thorough diagnostics and meticulous planning and execution. Dr. Setya uses the latest in technology to ensure your dental implant treatment is comfortable, accurate, efficient and minimally invasive.
Precise Diagnostics and Planning
Dr. Setya starts with full diagnostics to ensure he has a completely accurate view of the condition of your teeth and jaw. For this he obtains a comprehensive series of photographs and X-rays, which includes intraoral camera pictures of the inside of your mouth.
Using our 3D CT scanner, Dr. Setya obtains detailed 360-degree images of your entire oral anatomy to determine if you are a candidate for implants and, if you are, to plan the treatment. The doctor uses the 3D data with special implant-planning software to simulate the implant placement in advance of the surgery.
Surgical Guides for Accurate Placement
The data gathered is then used to create a physical surgical guide that indicates the exact location, angle and depth for implant placement. Because of this detailed preliminary planning, the procedure is then smooth, accurate and efficient.
Making Sure You are Comfortable
We take every measure to make your implant treatment as comfortable as possible. Dr. Setya will thoroughly explain your treatment and answer all your questions so you are informed and feel at ease.
Our injections are always gentle so you feel no pain. We have blankets and pillows for your added comfort in the chair, and if needed for longer procedures or heightened anxiety, we can provide oral or IV sedation.
Comfortable Extractions
If a tooth needs to be extracted before placing the implant, Dr. Setya uses a special instrument to gently detach the tooth from the ligaments holding it in the socket. He then removes the tooth vertically, which causes little or no damage to the surrounding gum and bone tissue. This means the implant site will take far less preparation, swelling is minimized and healing time is much faster.
Expert Bone Grafting
Where inadequate bone is present to support an implant, Dr. Setya will graft bone material into the implant site to regenerate the needed bone. He uses the latest procedures and materials for minimally invasive and effective bone regeneration.

Growth Proteins for Faster Healing
When needed, Dr. Setya will add special growth proteins to the implant site. These proteins speed up healing, increase the level of tissue regeneration, reduce swelling and prevent infection.
Same-Day Temporary Teeth
When your implant is placed in a visible area of your smile, Dr. Setya will place a temporary restoration tooth to maintain your smile while the implant heals. You also receive a temporary denture after implants are placed for a new implant-supported denture.
Lifelike, Beautiful, New Teeth
Dr. Setya partners with top restorative dentists, or your own referring dentist, to create the high-quality crowns, bridges or dentures that attach to your implants. The doctor sees to it that the teeth will be durable, aesthetic and remarkably lifelike. If the implants need time to fully integrate with your jawbone, you will receive an aesthetic temporary tooth on the day of the procedure to help maintain your smile.
